8th Grade Crossover Event Details
The 8th grade band participates in a performance in September with the High School Marching Band called the “High School Crossover”.
This event will be held on September, 23, 2024.
This is a great opportunity to give future high school band members a great impression of the HS band program, and to provide useful information for parents as well. There are plans for a special band trip for next school year!
Dress (same as the parade):
Solid colored shorts or pants (neutral colors please-gray, black, tan, or Zionsville green)
Zionsville shirt (sports uniform shirts will work!) or green, black or grey shirt if you don't have a Zionsville shirt
Short socks and tennis shoes-No sandals please! Sunglasses are fine, no hats/caps please.
4:50 - Students report to the ZCHS band practice lot.
5:00 – Rehearsal in the band lot (between stadium and school building)
6:00 - Dinner provided for students and staff in the commons area inside door 3.
6:30 – High school students get into uniforms
6:35 – 8th graders move to the stadium
6:45 - Parent meeting with Mr. Landrum in the stadium
7:00 – ZCHS Marching Eagles perform their competition show!
7:20 – 8th graders take the field with the Marching Eagles.
The performance will consist of a combined performance of the Star Spangled Banner, one or two short and fun pep band-type songs, and Soul Bossa Nova!
7:40 – One final activity for all of the students. Be ready to video this one!
When the event concludes, the 8th grade students will be dismissed by their band directors. Parents and students are encouraged to stick around to ask questions about the high school band program. I am looking forward to this great opportunity for a combined event between our 8th graders and the HS band students.
Thanks,
Mr. Landrum
