Who: 7th and 8th grade bands from ZWMS and ZMS
What: Zionsville Fall Festival Parade
The 7th and 8th grade bands from ZWMS and ZMS will combine to perform in the Fall Festival Parade.
When: Saturday, September 6th
Drop-off and pick-up location: ZCHS
Students will meet in the PAC (performing arts center/auditorium) at Zionsville High School. Students will enter and exit door 1.
All vehicles, except those involved in the parade lineup, should enter and exit the high school campus from Hal Sharpe Rd (south side of the high school).
Time: All band members meet in the PAC no later than 8:45AM. The parade steps off at 10 AM. Buses will transport students from the end of Main Street back to the high school after they are done marching. All students should be picked up from door 1 no later than NOON. We will send a parent square message on the bus ride home. Students will be sent out of the building to find their ride.
Parade Route: The parade begins at Zionsville HS and ends for us at the south end of Main Street.
Dress:
Solid colored shorts or pants (neutral colors please-gray, black, tan, or Zionsville green)
Zionsville shirt (sports uniform shirts will work!) or green, black or grey shirt if you don't have a Zionsville shirt
Short socks and tennis shoes-No sandals please! Sunglasses are fine, no hats/caps please.
Sunscreen!
We will have water for students during the parade. Students should eat a good breakfast before arriving.
Pick-up Details: Students will be assigned to a bus and transported back to the HS. We ask that ALL students be picked up at the high school rather than downtown. This is for their safety and director accountability. We are looking forward to marching over 250 students and don’t want to leave anyone behind. Any deviation to this request MUST be a special circumstance and made in writing at least one week prior to our performance. Please do not ask the day of the parade on Main Street to take your child—someone always does every year and amidst the chaos of so many kids and instruments and buses it makes things really difficult for us to keep everyone safe. Thank you for your understanding.
Volunteers: If you would like to help out at the event, or by providing a donation please check out the Volunteer Sign-Up. If you are donating water please bring it Saturday morning when you drop off your child. That will save us having to transport it to the high school from ZWMS. If you sign-up to let us use your wagon to carry water during the parade, please drop it off at the high school with your child with your name on it. You can pick up the wagon after the parade at the high school. If you volunteer to walk with the band during the parade, please find one of the directors the morning of the parade for directions.
